Me to.
For instance: I take my photo card out of my real camera and put it in my old camera because my old camera has a program on the computer to read the card. (My computer has no more room to do anything and so I can't load the new program EVEN IF I KNEW HOW.)
So, every single time I pop the card out of either camera I see myself, doing this, in a gondola in Venice, Italy and the card popping right into the water. Every single time.
How totally unrealistic is that? I'd say stupid but I don't want to admit to stupid, unrealistic is bad enough.

WAY TO GO, EINSTEIN,
When someone does a stupid thing or an absentminded one, people say, "Way to go, Einstein!" I keep having these Einstein moments.

We went to dinner tonight at my son and daughter-in-laws house. Wonderful food. Kung Pao chicken with rice, salad with Caesar dressing, a wonderful bean salad, and carrot cake, that only had like a million calories. I will post the recipes on my cookbook site when he sends them. But there will be no accompanying pictures, because I left my camera home.
While we were there our daughter-in-law--who went on that hundred and eleven mile bike ride today--did some yoga to work out the stiffness. She's like a rubber doll, so help me she is. It was beautiful to watch her stretch and amazing how flexible she is. Pictures? No, because I left my camera home.
While we were there my other son and daughter-in-law--who also rode the hundred and eleven mile bike ride--came. Tired but exhilarated. Did I get a picture? No, because...you know the rest.
Way to go, Einstein. It seems I never learn.
Are there things you never learn? Please tell me what so I won't feel so alone, like Einstein, on a wobbly bike while the rest of the world whizzes by on Titanium.

ADVICE
If you are going to your son and daughter-in-law's house to tend the kids and eat their delicious food and help the nine-year-old with her Valentine box and then the 12 year old decides he will decorate his box instead of just taking it "as is," which was a black shoe box, and then the six year old decorates everything in sight with every sticker available, and you decide this is the perfect photo opportunity for tonight's post and you get out the camera and click the shutter and the camera displays a message something like, "no image taken" and then you remember that because you are such a technologically challenged person--not an idiot, mind you, just technologically challenged--that you still don't have your Christmas camera's software downloaded and so every night you take the photo card out of the new camera and put it in the old camera and download the photos from it and then erase the card and then put it back into the new camera and when you see the message on the new camera you remember that the card is still in the old camera and that if you had just put the extra card in your purse like you told yourself you should have done you wouldn't have missed the great shots of kids and construction paper and stickers and Valentine's boxes and you would have a picture to post on the blog tonight.
So, take my advice and don't do this or you will be sorry, like I am.

CAN'T GET THE CAMERA TO DOWNLOAD
Why is it when you have only a limited amount of knowledge, you get comfortable with that knowledge, so comfortable that you are bordering on being smug and then the rules change and your knowledge becomes obsolete? Then you are a baby, needing help, but the people who can help you are unavailable. Then what do you do?
I've decided to sulk.
My camera has well over 200 pictures on it and here it sits, not downloading. I'm pretty sure there is some mocking going on. There are pictures of Curly Sue's baptism day. She is such a sweetheart, so tender and thoughtful. She never has favorites, always says, "I like everyone just the same." She will be a diplomat one day. Her great grandpa baptized her and I have the sweetest picture of the two of them.
There are pictures of the 20 pound trifle--which I will eventually put on my cookbook site--just not today.
Sulk.

EVERYONE'S IN BED
Everyone is in bed, even the neighbors, I think.
I finally learned how to download pictures from my camera. Bentley showed me. My camera needs some updating as it seems to be weird, three flashes, is that normal? By the time the camera actually takes the picture the subject is gone. I got ghost pictures of the dogs . I shouldn't have deleted them. There may have been a message from beyond the grave--imagine scary music playing in the background.
I have two photographer's sites I check every day and several others I check in on occasionally. I am so used to looking at their excellent work that I have forgotten how difficult it is to take a really good photo. Thanks Michael and Justin. You give me something to shoot for.
The house is quiet. The thoughts, rumbling around inside my head are not. How do you quiet those? They are like ears. You can shut your eyes, but you can't shut your ears. You can not talk but the brain-talk does not shut off. I think I need to learn to meditate.
"Oooommm." It's not working. "Oooommmm"
Maybe I should shut the computer off first. I'll try that.
