THINGS THAT MAKE NO SENSE

This is a real house. Now, if, for whatever insane reason, you built a basement house, don't you think you'd want ALL THE LIGHT YOU COULD GET AND YOU WOULDN'T PLANT AN ENORMOUS TREE IN FRONT, BLOCKING OUT WHAT LITTLE LIGHT WAS AVAILABLE? Sorry to shout. I couldn't help myself.
In the days of outhouses this was a really specialized one. Built for tall thin people only .
And I spotted this one day. A toilet in a breezeway. Why would you have a toiled in a breezeway?
Oh, wait. I can see it now. A child comes home from school, he hasn't gone to the bathroom all day--hating the school bathrooms, like children do--he goes to the front door. Locked. He goes to the back door. Locked. Mom is not home. He is dancing around, he really has to go. Oh, wait. He remembers now. An outside toilet. How nice. He can even hang his coat on the sawhorses and have privacy. It makes perfect sense.

I have a photo of an outhouse that leans at about 75 degrees. Who uses it is beyond me.

THAT'S MY HOUSE AND YOU ARE MOCKING IT!!!! SHAME ON YOU!

Oh, just kidding. I did have a toilet in my shower for about 9 months while my husband was "putting in a new floor." Did you know it takes 9 months? Me either. I'm guessing it's not supposed to... Oh, but we didn't use that toilet or shower while it was in there. Just so you know.

How do you find these strange and interesting things---in your neighborhood?

Once you said that you never look around you and observe--you were wrong! :)
