DUTCH OVEN ENRICHMENT

Tonight was Enrichment--a Dutch Oven event. We had ribs--the sauce recipe is on my cookbook blog, potatoes and onions, salad, Grandma Vera's beans--I later found out that Grandma Vera is the mother of a woman in our ward--these beans are famous, hot rolls, homemade root beer, and three kinds of cobbler with whipped cream. FABULOUS
We learned how to clean a new Dutch Oven and season it. How to cook--we received a handout with bunches of recipes--how many briquettes to use and how to start them with a chimney type thing. I'd show you a picture but Blogger is having that snit and besides that I didn't take a picture of it. We learned a bunch of stuff, which I am to tired to remember. I'll look at the handout tomorrow.

I tried to download a few more pictures but Blogger is throwing a bit of a tantrum so this is it.
Well, except for this one, the root beer milk can, filled with yummy root beer, chilled with dry ice. While it was brewing it looked sort of like a witches cauldron.

We didn't get out of there until 10:00, I think we had seventeen Dutch ovens and they all had to be cleaned and returned to the owners. Then I took my darling friend, Faye home and we sat in her driveway and visited for an hour. I sure hope I make it to Heaven because that's where Faye is going, straight to Heaven without any stops. She may have to open a trap door and let me in.

Oh, this looks like such a great evening. Look at that backyard full of nice women. I'm so sorry I missed it. I'll have to get the scoop on seasoning my dutch oven. After owning it for eight years, I might be ready to use it sometime soon . . .

AND those marshmallows are darling!

It got me to even look into dutch ovens, I'm surprised you didn't write about the obsessive dog trying to break his way in and making it twice, going crazy with the smell of this good food. It was a wonderful and fun night.
