ON SUNDANCE SKI LIFT WITH THE RELIEF SOCIETY

Today, fourteen Relief Society Sisters went to Sundance to see the fall leaves and ride the ski lift. Here is a record of our trip. I turned around, taking pictures just after we began.

There are lots of beautiful homes at Sundance. Some of them are summer homes but many people live there year round.

This is one of the bike trails. People take their mountain bikes up on a lift chair and then bike down. That's my goal for next year.
This is the Sundance outdoor theatre.

One of the many ski trail signs.
Two of the thirty or so mountain bikers we saw.

During ski season you get off here if you are a beginner.

Way in the distance is Robert Redford's home.

We got off here and walked the trails.

Some went on this trail that eventually leads to Stewart Falls.

This is the trail Cindy and I followed.
This is one of the four photos I really like--out of the 391 I took.

Cindy, on the trial.

Back where we started from.

This fence keeps skiiers from skiing over the edge.

There was plenty of time for relaxing conversations.

Back on the ski lift. Yikes, they almost didn't make it. This is another one of the four photos I like.
I told them to bring jackets and Patti even brought a blanket but it wasn't as cold as last week when Phil and I went and I FORGOT TO BRING MY CAMERA.

They've been all the way to the end of the lift and are on the way back. Another lift goes higher but not for summer visitors.

This is the steppest part of the whole ride. Anne watched the clouds instead of the ground.

This tree has a hair-do.

I think people can stay in this yurt.
I hated to see the ride come to an end.
Sundance planted flowers...
...and mother nature did too.
This stream goes through the Sundance property and eventually joins the Provo River.

Thank you Mr. Redford for the wonderful ski resort. We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect as was the company.

Hey can you believe that even in different countries people still do the same things? And not only that but in different countries you have the same plants and not only that but also even in different countries the leaves are changing colours?

but did you notice that with all the same things we spell things differently (colour)?

It looks like you had a most lovely day!

You will definitely have to plan a visit out here to my corner of the world if you love the fall! Our trees are famous for their colors...New England.

Then, you can go see where the prophet was born in Sharon, Vermont---it is gorgeous up there! Just let me know when you want to come out and I will pick you right up at the airport... :)

Thanks for the great pictures, though---my daughter was doing her improv up at Sundance before the play this summer, so I got to go up there and hang for a bit---it is indeed beautiful!

If there is one thing that I truly miss about the mainland - it's fall. I love the crisp air and the changing trees. I like seeing my kids play in piles of crackling leaves.
So, thank you for sharing your photos, it was like I was there with you. You didn't happen to bring along a nice crisp Utah apple, did you?

Love you,
Lisa
