A GOOD, GOOD DAY

Spent time with The Brown Dot today, riding in the car to go see my cousin and her husband. We were greeted with love and shown their beautiful, and I mean beautiful house and then sat and talked for a long time. Each had wonderful things to say and listened to fears and hopes. It was the best day. I can't think of another day as satisfying as this one.

I have said this for years but it bears repeating: There is nothing in this world more important than relationships. In fact, I'm going to stick my neck out and say it's the only thing important. Everything else is good or bad, needed or not but relationships are it. They really are. I am lucky to have good ones with my kiddies, who are all grown up but they are still my kiddies. And good ones with extended family. And good ones with friends. The best of all is with Phil, of course, and even more important is Heavenly Father and Jesus. Without them none of this would be possible. And it's good. All good.

May God bless each of you to have good relationships with all those in your life. And for those or you struggling, just hang on. Be patient. Show great love. Things work out. It doesn't seem like it will, but be patient. Life is long and if it doesn't happen here in this life, well, life is also short but eternity is...well, eternal. And things will happen there that will fix it all. You will be happy. I know this.

I agree with you 100%. That's why 99% of the teenagers commit suicide or go blow everyone away like at Columbine--they feel like misfits and totally unloved. In his book, GETTING TO KNOW THE REAL YOU, a BYU professor named Richard Ellsworth said, "If we could only good see our real self--the one that resided with Heavenly Father, we would see a magnificent, glorious being, and when we scrape away all of the facades we put on ourselves, sometimes for self-protection , we would again be able to see a glorious, lovable human being. TO KNOW SOMEONE (to know their real self) IS TO LOVE THEM."

I am glad that you had such a nice day and you sound like you are feeling better, too.

You always have the right thing to say---so glad you had a wonderful day.

I too value my relationships---they ARE the most important things in our lives! I look forward to ours...

I'm begining to sense that I am not your favorite child, I think you tell ALL your children that and perhaps some of their spouses too. THE NERVE.

Love it. I was over at Karl and Wendy's the other day and feeling some envy, and then I told myself I was being ridiculous, because I have the most wonderful little and big family in the world, and that is all that truly matters. I love it when you reassure me I will be happy (you do blog just for me or at least mainly for me, I am sure). I love many of your beliefs. I ate so much peanut butter fudge and left the last at home for the fam. Now I want it. Love your header picture and you!

It was nice of you to leave it behind. I am eating some this very moment. Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

yep which us why Jesus humbled himself and became a little baby to give us life and hope. It is why he walked this Earth and had no place to lie his head; because of his great love for us. Love one another, the greatest commandment.
People are the only thing that leave this world and enter the next, everything else is scheduled for demolition. Yep yep.

I fully agree relationships are very important, sadly my relationship with some of my daughters are not as good as i would hope for many reasons, the fact that I live half way around the world from them being one, but it was fate brought on me and i hope the relationships will improve as they get older and hopefully see me from a different perspective
