From the looks of those tins, it looks like it took you days. How many dozen did you make? It looks like you made over 1000 tea cakes. I've eaten something like these before. Only all my Greek friends call them Kourabiethes. The recipes are almost the same except the Greeks put 2 egg yolks in for every pound of butter. In other words, they start out with a quadruple batch. My grandmother always made them every Christmas, too.
