LITTLE OLD LADY HAS NO USE FOR US

The other day, when Gilmore Girl and I were having lunch at Mimi's with the Chicklets. four little old women were also having lunch there. They finished before we did. Each one slowly pushed back her chair and ever so slowly got up. They shuffled by, one at a time. The last one in the little-old-lady-chorus-line stopped and waggled her fingers at Curly Sue and Tuesday and grinned. Then she looked Hillary and me up and down and said, "You people I can live without."

So much for that nice-little-old-lady-theory.

Laura, copy away. Glad you thought it was funny. Gilmore Girl and I held our snort in until she shuffled off.

I chortled and guffawed. Giggled . . . no . . . Laughed in a manly sort of way.

How bizarre! I don't think it was funny at all! I think it's very sad that the little old lady felt such a sense of entitlement that she could voice her displeasure in such an unkind way. Old age doesn't come with a license for meanness.

Have I lost my sense of humor??
