MAMMA MIA

Friday night, after most of the Opening Exercises of the Olympics I got a call from Pam. "Wanna go to Mamma Mia in eight minutes?" Of course I did. We were even on time.
Phil will be astonished!
Mamma Mia was a story about a girl, raised in the Greek Islands. She's getting married.
She found her mother's diary, telling her the possibile identity of her father.
One of three. She invited them to her wedding. They came.
Her mother, Meryl Streep--who was fantastic in the role--lost it.
Pierce Brosnan was one of the three. Since the movie was a musical, Pierce sang. Every time he sang the audience laughed. Imagine. Bond. James Bond. Singing. Well, it was funny.

I tried to find a photo of the boys on the island, dancing on the dock. I laughed until I couldn't breathe. There were so may parts that were laugh-out-loud funny. Even the credits, after the movie, were funny. Don't leave early!
Some of the scenes were hysterical. Some had some swears. One, that I can think of, although funny, was suggestive. That's how the man-of-bad works, making bad things funny. I'm sorry I laughed. I'm repenting, real soon. Right now. Repenting.

Mmm, James. Er...I mean, Sam. And this little gal, who played Sophie, can really sing. Her name is Amanda Seyfried
Do you have friends like this? We ALL should have friends like this. Friends who you can be knock-down silly with. Friends with history, maybe, or maybe they are new friends. I wish you all friends, forever friends like I have. I am so lucky.

Now, we just need to learn to dance.
And sing. And live in Greece.
Pam and I are going to buy the music and learn to dance and then watch out! Mamma Mia.

Loved it!
Absolutely loved it!
I have seen it twice, and plan on going at least 2 more times.
I sang the whole way through ...
and did not care what others thought. (I am sure a few were singing themselves!)

That sounds fun. I think I'll rent it when I can watch it on my Clear Play DVD player. I was silly with my family yesterday. Marshall went to bed early so Nathan (age9), Brian (hubby) and I played Phase 10. I don't even remember what go us laughing but we were cracking up. It was fun!

I wanted to dance. I STILL want to dance. And sing. And jump off the dock with 100 of my closest friends all singing at the top of our lungs. I'm with you, Alisa, I loved it, absolutely loved it. And I will see it again and again and again. And then I'll buy the DVD and watched the small scrunched up version on my standard size TV when I'm alone. Or when I'm blue. Or when I just feel like having fun.

Don't take your husband. He wouldn't like it, I think. Glenn Beck said it was the absolute worst movie he has ever seen in his life. I agree with pretty much all that Glenn Beck says, but on this one I differ. Except, don't take your husband. I really doubt that he would like it, either.

Thanks, Lynne, for once again being my spontaneous friend. I'd jump off a dock with you anytime.

I went to a workshop "Singing for Musicals." I bet I could get more laughter than old Pierce.

this is one of the few plays i've actually seen, which ended up being great... it's funny to think of ol' Pierce taking a stab at singing, yeeesh
