CAN'T GET THE CAMERA TO DOWNLOAD

Why is it when you have only a limited amount of knowledge, you get comfortable with that knowledge, so comfortable that you are bordering on being smug and then the rules change and your knowledge becomes obsolete? Then you are a baby, needing help, but the people who can help you are unavailable. Then what do you do?

I've decided to sulk.

My camera has well over 200 pictures on it and here it sits, not downloading. I'm pretty sure there is some mocking going on. There are pictures of Curly Sue's baptism day. She is such a sweetheart, so tender and thoughtful. She never has favorites, always says, "I like everyone just the same." She will be a diplomat one day. Her great grandpa baptized her and I have the sweetest picture of the two of them.

There are pictures of the 20 pound trifle--which I will eventually put on my cookbook site--just not today.

Sulk.

Peach, now I know why you are called "Peach."

Thank you so much. My son showed up on my doorstep to show me his new car but took time to come downstairs to try to help me out. He coudn't get it to work but then called me and walked me through it. I had to register for Adobe Photoshop Album starter or some such thing. I just always clicked "register later," and I guess it got tired of my procrastination. So, tomorrow, pictures, I'm too tired tonight.

I know that probably isn't how I should download pictures but it's all I know.

I have a little Nikon CoolPix 4600.

You're a sweetheart to want to help. Thank you so much.

Auntie,
You need to get a card reader. Then you don't have to download anymore - just put the card in, and copy and paste. OK, it's a little more complecated than that, but not much. The best part is you can copy and paste all 200 pics at once without waiting for the annoying download time. I think i got our card reader for $8 at Wally's world - worth every penny and about 5 times more!

love you,
Lisa

Blushing... I had forgotten but reading above, my printer has card readers built in to it so the kids, to avoid the PAIN of downloading, use it.
we have 3 kodak cameras *all different ones* one odd brand one I bought on ebay and a fugi.

Of course all but the Kodak's use different programs and the kodaks sometimes confuse the puter as to which is hooked up and I have to slow down and let it figure it out.

The card reader is actually the easiest thing to use but I like having the pics loaded in the appropriate program so I can crop ect them.

I am glad it was an easy fix and can't wait to see what all you have captured :-)

Hugs Laura

I have no idea what any of you are talking about! I know just enough about computers and cameras to get into trouble. Good luck with your pictures...looks like you have people on your team who know how to help!
