FRONT PORCHES

A puzzling thing I saw yesterday. As opposed to this house. Even in the cold weather I would sit out there. The house faces east so the morning sun would pour in, warming the sitters and the rockers.

I blame Frank Lloyd Wright for the decline of the front porch. Luckily this family didn't buy into his ideas.

Even this house--whose porch is tiny--is inviting. Can't you just imagine eating breakfast out there when it is warm? Or sitting out there with a notebook to blog?

And speaking of warm, it is coming, isn't it? Remind me of my longing if I complain of the heat in the middle of July. Someone forgot to tell Utah about global warming--and a lot of the rest of the country, too.

No more global warming. They changed it to "climate change" so it covers all the bases. But hopefully Utah will thaw out for awhile before the next ice age so we can warm up. I love porches. They're so inviting. Like your lawn swings.

O wow, just LOVE the porches. Always wanted a home with a biiiig porche where I can sit night and day.... love the outdoors. And then I see people who own houses with stunnin porches.. and they don't use them :( So unfair! Lovely shots and write up.

Greta shot of porches, I would love to have a place a little out in the country, with a porch that gets the morning sun and a look across fields or some other natural vista, that would be simply the best way to start the day

When have a lovely spot to sit with our breakfast. Well, we will as soon as the weather warms a little.
Global warming is a misnomer. It should be "Global Climate Change." Over all the world is getting warmer but some areas actually experience a drop in temperature. Around here - the winters are much warmer than they were.
Oops, I will stop the sermon.

I do LOVE porches! I actually use a porch for my "happy place" when I meditate.

I want a porch sooooo badly that I get a porch calendar every year---until I get my own---if it EVER happens.
