With my milk chocolate Bordeaux in hand I left and hoped that the ribs in the car--this was the day I locked myself out of the Clown Car--were not warm. Luckily I didn't have any frozen items. Phil was surprised and I'll bet he hasn't even opened his Bordeaux yet. (He only got a half pound box) This is what they look like on the inside. If you haven't ever had a Bordeaux I suggest you do so.
I talked him out of buying flowers and also forgot he was taking me to lunch and so I ate lunch while he showered. It's an economical Valentine's this way.
This afternoon I baked and delivered Ginger Cookies (Recipe here) to the sisters I visit teach. Well, to be totally honest, Phil delivered them, as the driveways were icy. He always does the hard stuff in this marriage. Like today, he shoveled the driveway and sidewalks four times as the snow just kept falling. I sat in the rocking chair and watched it snow. I thought I should participate in the endeavor somehow and watching seemed like a good idea. I'm nice, like that.
So, it was an uneventful Valentine's Day today. A lazy one, but nice. I even had a nap so I can stay up until the wee hours seeing how everyone else celebrated the day.
I hope yours was happy and if it wasn't as happy as you thought it should be, here are a couple of quotes that I like:
Be strong now because things will get better. It might be stormy now but it can’t rain forever.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
I've googled the quotes and can't find the author's. If you know please tell me so I can give credit.

I said all those things. just give credit to me and we'll call it good. you know who I am. I'm the smartest person you know, I'm also your favorite child. ha ha. I spent valentines cleaning the kitchen before the wife got home at 1:30. I partially did this so that I wouldn't feel that she would be disappointed with my house-hold performance while she was hard at work. she was very happy to find a clean kitchen. we had a great day.
YFC... not yogurt flavored at all.
i love your son (bentley) he is the best. we did have a fantastic valentines day, just stayed in and enjoyed our clean kitchen.
love you much.
I want those Bordeaux. Yummy. Wow, it must have snowed lots and lots today. I wasn't going to blog. I was going to postpone until tomorrow. But now that I know you're waiting...
The people you visit teach are lucky. You not only baked those delicious looking cookies, but then you wrapped them up so cute. Bless Phil for shoveling 4 times in one day. That was a great Valentine's present for him to do it.
You have an impostor in your comments list. He has worms.
I am glad you had a nice V-day. I am in a bit of a funk today. Maybe tomorrow will be better, thanks to those quotes.
What flavor are those chocolates...I know you said, but what does it taste like?
We had a See's candy where we lived before, and got them for every occasion. I like their apple pie flavor(really, it tastes like apple pie!)and Raspberry, and blueberry, and lemon..and basically all the fruits but apricot. That one was gross.
I just got stuff done all day for my show that night---the closing night---but my sweet hubby got me some flowers and a couple of cards----even though he was doing a hundred things for me----he is a sweetie!
